Last weekend, I had the pleasure to photograph Monica’s engagement to Ganesan. The evening rain didn’t dampen the joy and energy that were generated throughout the ceremony, which was infused with a blend of cultures—a traditional Indian ceremony with a modern Christian formality.
Here are some photos of the evening.

The happy couple
It’s been a truly wonderful journey documenting the marriage of Abdul Kadir Rashid and Azwaliza Azman.
I’ve covered many weddings over the years, but Kadir and Wawa gave me the chance to shoot a Malay wedding. Now that’s a first! If that wasn’t enough, they’ve allowed me to cover all the ceremonies–from the merisik ceremony, followed by the engagement ceremony, to the akad nikah (solemnisation) and bersanding ceremonies.
It’s been a pleasure and honour to photograph this lovely couple. Being part of so many ceremonies has allowed me to come to know many wonderful people–in both families and their friends, whom among them are well-known faces on TV3 (as Wawa’s a TW3 newscaster herself). Plus, the wedding at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur, is the most elegant, elaborate and exquisite ceremony I’ve attended to date.
Thanks Kadir & Wawa.

Following the wedding, there were other receptions at each of their parents’ places and also at the Shangri-la Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The year 2011 started well! For Eric and Kelly, it was indeed a day to remember. Close friends and family joined them at the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Subang Jaya as they happily exchanged their vows during their church ceremony. The traditional Chinese tea ceremony followed at after the church ceremony. After that, I was able to take Eric and Kelly for a few shots at her grandparents’ garden. It was a blast having them posed by her grandpather’s 20+ year-old wall painting, too. The day was complete when the couple held a reception at the Grand Palace (Imperial ballroom) in Klang later in the night.
Congrats to you both, Kelly and Eric. That was indeed a great start to a new year, and a life together.
Here are a few shots from the day…
